Here are some pictures of the vegetable garden site. They were taken this past week – March 23-27, 2009. I think Eric has pictures from last Saturday’s work day.

March 28, 2009Dumbarton Oaks in the fog, March 27, 2009
March 28, 2009Friday morning in DC was foggy. Gail took some neat images of the garden that I am sharing with you.
Since the Plums are so pretty right now, I had to show you two views.
But Melisande’s Alle is equally interesting with wisps of fog blowing around.
And a last view of the fogginess….
Quick update on spring
March 16, 2009Just a quick note to share photographs I took on March 11. There were more crocus and daffodils in the garden. And the trees are budding. I’ll post a note on just trees soon…. In the meantime…
Here is the view on my walk between the parking lot and the library.
Spring is still coming….
March 7, 2009It’s been almost a month since my last post. Since then we’ve experienced a number of frigid days, snow, wind and gray skies. But March is here, however much it is has come in like a lion, and this weekend is promising warm weather.
I went out into the garden yesterday and took some pictures that I will share with you. There are more winter aconite blooming and snowdrops (we had snow last Monday.) But there are also mounds of crocus up, and a few Chionodoxa luciliae also known as Glory of the snow and Lenten rose. The winter aconite is on the south side of the lawn as well as the Terrior Column and Mélisande’s Allée. The crocus are in the same places above, plus the Orchard, Cherry Hill, and the Lilac Circle. I saw the Glory of the snow in the Allée. The snowdrops are popping up here and there around the property especially under the Beech tree. I think things will be springing up on a regular basis from now on, so check back often.
Here are some of the pictures in no particular order.
